Double Dribble is back! The twice weekly basketball recaps will bring you the latest from around the MSR coverage area. Below are the highlights from this weekend.

  • Central Montcalm bested Newaygo 38-21 on Friday night. The Lions were up one after a quarter, but were outscored by 11 in the second frame. Barbara Toth led the Lions with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
  • East Grand Rapids defeated Mona Shores on Saturday 59-40. Macy Brown paced the Pioneers with 22 points, while Khaleeya Cook led the Sailors with 11.
  • Forest Hills Northern went down to Kalamazoo to face Otsego on Saturday. They were able to return home with a 43-33 victory. Earlier in the week, the Huskies defeated Coopersville 64-39. In that game, Vivien Enrico (22), Layne Siestema (15) and Abby Seitsema (12) were in double figures for the Huskies.
  • Gobles split the week with a win and a loss. In their 37-35 win over Saugatuck, Deanna Wood had 12 points.
  • Grand Rapids Christian defeated South Christian 48-39. The Eagles were led by Lydia Sall, who scored 13 points. Lizzie Wolthuis paced South with 11.
  • Martin defeated Black River 43-28 to improve to 3-0 on the season. They trailed 7-4 after the first quarter, before going on a 16-6 run to take a halftime lead. Makala Goddard led Martin with 16 points. Earlier in the week, they defeated Coloma 42-14.
  • Montague is off to a 3-1 start. They have wins over Whitehall, Orchard View and Comstock Park. Emma Peterson has been in double figures in all of those wins, with two 20+ point efforts.
  • North Muskegon defeated Hesperia 41-20. Seven Norse scored in this win, while Hesperia was paced by Samy Logana and her 12 points.
  • Shelby edged Ravenna 33-23.
  • Spring Lake dealt Montague their lone loss thus far. The Lakers raced out to a 13-2 first quarter lead and cruised to a 45-31 win. Brooke Bolthouse led the way with 15 points for Spring Lake.
  • Watervliet got the best of Fennville on Friday, winning 55-25. The Panthers led 9-0 after the first quarter, and 28-6 at halftime. Madisynn Jefferson led Fennville with 13. This was the second loss for Fennville this week, as they fell 54-42 on Tuesday to Black River. In that game, Lila Rosema led the team with 18.
  • West Catholic defeated Mona Shores 45-39. Gabby Reynolds (18) and Chelsea Overbeek (12) were in double figures for WC, while Khaleeya Cook (19) paced the Sailors.
