The original “Battle for Forest Hills”, all apologies to Eastern, took place on Friday night in the regular season finale. The host Rangers had little trouble, cruising to a 32-0 shutout of the Huskies.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Rangers got on the board early in the second. Justin Osterhouse kept the football for a 5-yard scamper, giving the Rangers a 7-0 lead. They would double their advantage with a pass from Mason McDonald to Ty Hudkins that went 14-yards to the end zone.

In the third quarter, FHC got another pair of scoring plays. First, the duo of McDonald and Hudkins connected again. This time it was a 33-yard strike. With two minutes left in the third quarter, Andrew Novay booted a 32-yard field goal to take a 24-0 lead.

The fourth quarter brought one last Rangers touchdown. For the second time on the night, Osterhouse used his legs to find paydirt. His keeper went a yard, giving FHC a 32-0 win.

Forest Hills Central finishes their regular season unbeaten for the first time since 2017. They will almost assuredly have a home opener next week in the playoffs. Forest Hills Northern, now 4-5, will likely see its season come to an end with this defeat.
