The Frankenmuth Eagles have dominated in nearly every way throughout the 2022 season. Through seven weeks of the season, the closest game the Eagles have had was a 21-0 win over a very good Freeland Falcons team. This week they would head on the road to face a Garber team who has been hot at the right time. Winners of their last three, the Dukes would be looking to keep building that momentum with a win over the top team in the TVC. That wouldn’t happen on the Eagles watch.

After no score nearing the end of the 1st quarter, Frankenmuth would break through first when Sam Barger would plunge in the endzone from 5-yards out. A Will Soulliere PAT would give the Eagles a 7-0 lead. The Dukes would give the ball right back on the kickoff that would give the Eagles great field possession. Garber would stiffen up defensively leaving Frankenmuth settling for a FG when Soulliere would knock one through the uprights from 37-yards out. It would be 10-0 Frankenmuth, after one.

Early in the 2nd quarter Garber would give the ball back again. Frankenmuth would then put together a methodical Eagles drive that would be capped off by a Griffin Barker 5-yard TD run. The Dukes would respond and put themselves right back in the game. A big pass play would put points on the board for the home team making it a 17-7 game after a good PAT. Garber would limit the Eagles to another FG try when Soulliere this time would connect from 32-yards out giving Frankenmuth a slim 20-7 lead after one half.

The Dukes would hang around in this one before Frankenmuth started imposing their will. Barger would find his way into the endzone again, this time from 17-yards out. Garber would be unable to put any on the board in the 3rd and Frankenmuth would lead heading into the final quarter, 26-7.

Frankenmuth really put this one away after an explosive play on offense. Aidan Hoard would connect with Jared Watchorn on a 63-yard TD pass. The good PAT would make this one a 33-7 game. The Eagles weren’t done yet as Zak Andrews capped the night off with a 37-yard TD run. Frankenmuth would be able to pull away in this one, 40-7.

The Frankenmuth offense piled up yards on the night. They would finish with 466 yards of total offense. Aidan Hoard carried 18 times for 133 yards to lead the way. He went 7 of 13 through to air for 161 yards. The Eagles’ run defense was at work again tonight, holding the Garber run game to –16 yards.

Frankenmuth will look to cap off a perfect regular season next week when they take on Flint Powers. This win will wrap up the TVC for the Eagles. They move to 8-0 overall, and 7-0 in conference play. Flint Powers has been on the other side of the coin this year, the Chargers will come in at 3-5 on the year. Frankenmuth will welcome them in for a 7:00 battle next Friday night. Garber will look to see if they can gain some momentum back after this one. They now sit at 5-3 overall and 4-3 in TVC play. They’ll have another tough task next week in undefeated Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port. The Lakers were dominant over Memphis in a week 8 win. The two will face off next Friday at 7:00.
