The Byron Center Bulldogs travelled to Forest Hills Northern for a showdown with the Huskies. It was cruise control for Byron Center, as they captured a 46-7 victory.

In the first quarter, BC struck twice. First, Hunter Schichtel kept the football on an 8-yard carry. The frame’s final minute saw Jason Sevigny reel off a 75-yard touchdown, racing past the oncoming Huskies.

Ahead 14-0, Byron Center doubled their lead in the second quarter. Landon Tungate covered 49 yards on his gallop across the goal line. Luke Laska became the fourth Bulldog to score with his 16-yard carry. FHN finally halted the skip with a 7-yard pass from Drew Dabaja to Christian Flemings. This brought the halftime count to 27-7 Byron Center.

Throughout the second half, it was all Byron Center. First, Schichtel and Jason Sevigny connected on a 55-yard pass. Next, Sevigny used his legs for a 22-yard touchdown run. Finally, Landon Tungate returned to the end zone with a 19-yard carry.

Byron Center nearly doubled FHN in yardage, securing a 426-214 advantage. The Bulldogs rushed for 364 yards in this win. Jason Sevigny paced the team with 162 yards on 11 carries, while Tungate added 97 yards on just six carries.

Byron Center, now 6-2, concludes the regular season next week against Grand Rapids Christian. FHN slides to 4-4. Their playoff life is on the line against Forest Hills Central.
