The Allendale Falcons have been struggling this season and were hoping to make a late push for the playoffs. The Broncos entered 4-2 and weren’t looking like a lock for the playoffs. However, they made their statement and came out hustling. Coopersville scored 37 points all game while keeping the Falcons off the scoreboard.

In the first half, the Broncos put 17 on the board. The first points came from a successful 24-yard field goal attempt midway through the first quarter. Following the field goal, Nick Gordon and Colton Bosch were able to connect for 2 touchdowns. The Falcons looked to struggle both offensively and defensively as they could construct a scoring drive or slow down the Bronco’s offense.

After the teams went to their respective locker rooms, it looked like the Falcons found out how to stop Bosch and the Broncos. Allendale didn’t allow any points in the third quarter, but this didn’t last long into the fourth. Not even two minutes in, Gordon pulled in a 24-yard pass to complete a touchdown hat trick for the night. A quick three minutes later, Luke Stanton scored his second touchdown of the season. It was a 95-yard pitch-and-catch into the endzone for 6 points. The final score of the night came from no one else but Gordon. This was off a short pass over the goal line to close out a very successful showing for the Broncos.

In week 8, the Falcons will host the Maroons of Holland Christian. They are coming off a tough loss against Unity Christian. The Broncos will have to have a very similar performance next week as they are scheduled to face the undefeated West Catholic Falcons. They will need a strong defense to stop Tim Kloska and Bernie Varnesdeel, who are both having outstanding senior seasons.
