The Lowell Red Arrows hosted Forest Hills Northern on Friday in the fifth week of the MHSAA football season. Starting play with four straight touchdowns allowed Lowell to race out to a convincing lead. An exchange of touchdowns resulted in a 35-7 Lowell victory.

In the first half, Lowell scored twice. Jackson Reisbig got things started with a 25-yard touchdown run. In the second quarter, Ethan Krieger punched it across the goal line. A pair of Todd Parcheta extra points gave Lowell a 14-0 halftime lead.

The Red Arrows would double their lead in the third quarter. Tacho Gonzales scored first with a 6-yard carry. On the next drive, Aidan Fitzpatrick added a 7-yard score. With forty-three seconds left in the third quarter, Forest Hills Northern finally got on the scoreboard. Curt Andrews broke free for a 43-yard score, moving the count to 28-7 Lowell with twelve minutes to play.

Lowell would add one more touchdown in the fourth quarter to pad the final margin. Jackson Reisbig plunged across the goal line from a yard out for the game’s final score.

The victors outgained the Huskies 353-119 in this contest. Tacho Gonzales (141 yards on 25 carries) and Jackson Reisbig (129 yards on 22 carries) powered Lowell offensively.

Lowell (4-1) has a huge matchup next week against Forest Hills Central. Forest Hills Northern (2-3) will take on Northview in a contest that will impact both teams’ chances to play in the postseason.
