The Twin City Sharks, a program that has been unable to capture a victory since combining in 2020, got the monkey off their back on Thursday night. Going up against the Lee Legends, a school with an enrollment of 594, the Sharks sent a statement in their 34-6 victory.

Three early touchdowns set the tone for Twin City in this game. Ty Johnson got things started with a 7-yard touchdown carry. The Sharks’ signal-caller kept the football on their next score as well, a 9-yard boot. The first quarter touchdowns concluded with a 3-yard rumble by Colin Watts, giving Twin City a 18-0 advantage.

In the second quarter, the lead continued to expand. Johnson and Watts were the culprits again, this time connecting on an 8-yard pass. Ty Johnson carried the football across the goal line for a two-point conversion. This gave the Sharks a 26-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, the teams exchanged scores. Colin Watts wrapped up his night with a 2-yard run, while Ty Johnson added another conversion.

Ty Johnson was 6/18 passing in this victory, racking up 107 yards. Anthony Ealey (31 yards) and Watts were his top targets. Johnson made his mark on the ground, turning 29 carries into 242 yards and two scores. Watts (60) and Ealey (45) also made their presence felt in the run game.

The Sharks outgained Lee 498-227 in this win. It was a thrilling night for Coach Pete Murphy and this program. They will try to keep the momentum rolling next week, when they face Manistee Catholic Central. Lee (0-4) will try to capture their first win next week, when they face Lawrence.
