The Forest Hills Eastern Hawks have soared into rarified air for their 19-year old football program. This edition of the Hawks became just the fourth (2005, 2009, 2015) to start the season off with three victories. FHE accomplished this feat with their 37-14 win over Kenowa Hills on Friday night.

In their victory, FHE scored the first 37 points of this contest. They posted 14 points in the opening frame, 16 in the second, and a touchdown in the third. This gave the Hawks a running clock, before Kenowa finished with a pair of scores.

Bryson Kuzdal had another rushing performance for the victors. He turned 10 carries in 86 yards and three touchdowns, with a fourth score coming on a 51-yard punt return. Brendan Thompson was 8/16 passing, racking up 120 yards and a touchdown strike to Jacob Heemstra. Not to be left out of the scoring tally, Clune VanAndel nailed a 42-yard field goal in the closing seconds of the first half.

Kenowa Hills saw Giles Ansmits lead the way with 36 yards on the ground, including a touchdown. Quarterback Jack Zegunis was 7/12 passing, with 61 of his 109 yards coming on a touchdown toss to Juliusz Andino.

The Hawks, now 3-0, will look to keep their undefeated mark alive against Wayland. Kenowa Hills faces Grand Rapids Catholic Central, who carries a 40-game winning streak into battle on Friday night.
