White Cloud took down Shelby with their run attack, 40-20, in the season opener for both teams.
The offense line for White Cloud stepped up big in this game. Mason Ruether was able to drop back, completing a touchdown pass to Nate Compeau. Landyn McGowen rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown. Leading the Indians offensively, however, was Jace Silverton, as he rushed for 315 yards and four touchdowns.
The Indians’ defense was led by Silverton and Lloyd Sebright-Johnson with 11 tackles. Also reaching the double-digit mark was Carlos Brown with 10, who also recorded an interception. Landyn McGowen recovered a fumble for White Cloud.
White Cloud will be back home on September 1st against Hart. The Tigers will be back home against Ludington.
