The Frankenmuth Eagles won their fifth District Title in the last six years with a 37-7 win over the Swan Valley Vikings. This was a rematch of a TVC-Central battle from Week 2, in which the Eagles secured a 47-20 victory.

The Eagles jumped out to a 20-0 first quarter lead on two Cole Jankowski touchdown runs of 2 and 19 yards respectively. Sam Barger added the other score on a 53-yard run.

In the second quarter, the lone score came on a Jankowski run of one yard. This gave Frankenmuth a 27-0 lead at halftime.

At the 4:50 mark of the third quarter, Seth Malmo connected on a 23 yard field goal and a 30-0 Eagles lead. Late in the third quarter, Cole Lindow electrified the home crowd with a 78-yard jaunt to pay dirt to increase the lead to 37-0.

The Vikings had their lone score in the fourth quarter on a Tyler Drain touchdown run. The Eagles offense totaled 467 yards in this game, led by Lindow’s 164 yards rushing. Jankowski added 156 yards on the ground. The defense held the Vikings to 155 yards of offense. Jake Andrews led the defense with 10 tackles, followed by Michael Carter (9) and Brenden Marker (8).

Frankenmuth will be in next week’s regional championship game against the Kingsley Stags. Kingsley had little problem in their district game, defeating Clare 32-6.
