The Freeland Falcons have continued to play strong all season, capturing their seventh win with a 42-12 victory against Birch Run.

In the first quarter, Freeland scored twice. Jacob Kundinger powered across the goal line from eight yards out. On their next drive, Evan Vasicek reeled off a 24-yard rushing score. Two unsuccessful conversions gave the Falcons a 12-0 lead.

The second quarter saw more of the same. Freeland found the end zone two more times. Bryson Huckeby used his legs on a 2-yard quarterback keeper. Nate Levinson became the fourth different Falcon to rush for a score on his 7-yard carry. Two successful conversion runs gave Freeland a 28-0 halftime lead.

Freeland would extend their lead in the third quarter. Garrett Pistro carried the football three yards for a score, his tenth of the 2021 campaign. A successful extra point by Alex Duley set the running clock in action, as the Falcons led 35-0.

In the final frame, Birch Run found the end zone. Khaleel Brown scored twice, on two lengthy touchdown sprints of 62 and 71 yards. Bryson Huckeby would score the lone touchdown for Freeland, completing a 2-yard pass to Duley.

Freeland dominated the line of scrimmage throughout. Bryson Huckeby finished 9/14 passing for 167 yards. Khaleel Brown tallied 162 rushing yards for Birch Run, with 133 on those two touchdowns.

Next week, both Freeland and Birch Run will wrap up their regular seasons in non-league action. The Falcons will face Flushing, while Birch Run will square off against Clio.
