The Frankenmuth Eagles, fresh off a statement victory against Freeland, moved to 6 – 0 with a 59-0 win over the Bridgeport Bearcats on Friday night.
Cole Jankowski opened the scoring with two touchdown passes in the first quarter. He found Hunter Leddy on a 59 yarder, and Nate Jackson for a 35-yard pass. Leddy added two more first quarter scores on scoring runs of 6 and 54 yards. Cole Lindow and Sam Barger also added first quarter rushing scores, giving Frankenmuth a commanding 42-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Lindow scored his second touchdown of the game. His 1-yard score and a 27-yard field goal by Seth Malmo put the Eagles ahead 52-0 at the break.
Hunter Bernthal added the lone second half touchdown for Frankenmuth, reaching the end zone on a 2-yard run.
The Eagles totaled 379 yards of offense and limited the Bearcats to just 1 yard. Hunter Leddy led the rushers with 79 yards. Brandon Marker and Jake Andrews each had 6 tackles to lead the defense.
The Eagles will travel to Alma next Friday for another league battle. Bridgeport, now 0-6, will look to bounce back against Birch Run.
