The Plainwell Trojans travelled to Richland to face the Gull Lake Blue Devils on Friday night. An impressive offensive showing gave the Trojans their fourth win on the year, 33-14.
Early in the first quarter, Ryan Koob got Plainwell on the board with a 45-yard touchdown pass to Trammel Robinson. Late in the first quarter, Landon Dixon-Schumacher extended the Trojans’ lead to thirteen points with a 6-yard touchdown.
The second quarter saw Plainwell continue to build their lead. Caleb Williams powered across the goal line from a yard out, pushing the margin to 20 points. After an interception by Robinson, Koob found Dixon-Schumacher for a 5-yard touchdown pass. Plainwell took this 26-0 lead into the locker room.
Ryan Koob continued to extend the lead midway through the third quarter. He racked up his first rushing touchdown to give Plainwell a 33-0 lead. Gull Lake finally got on the board early in the fourth quarter, a quarterback sneak by Silas Vanwormer.
The Blue Devils would add a fourth down touchdown conversion, as Noah Blake reeled off a 25-yard run.
Gull Lake, now 1-3 on the year, will face Battle Creek Central next week. Plainwell returns to Wolverine Conference action next week against Edwardsburg.
