Edwardsburg 69 Sturgis 59: The Eddies earned a Wolverine Conference victory, taking down the Trojans. Sturgis led after the first quarter, but Edwardsburg used a 23-12 edge in the second quarter to regain the lead. Brendan Byce (16), Luke Stowasser (14), Jacob Pegura (13) and Jake Moore (12) all finished in double-figures for Edwardsburg. Thomas Kurowski led Sturgis, scoring 30 of the team’s 59 points, while Jacob Thompson added 11.

Grand Haven 47 Caledonia 37: The Bucs earned another road victory in OK Red play, taking down the Fighting Scots on Saturday. Nic Stump led all scorers with 23 points for Grand Haven.

Grandville 78 Middleville 72 (OT): The Bulldogs travelled to Middleville, and they had to grind out a narrow win in overtime. Austin VanElst led the losing Trojans with 25 points.

GR Catholic Central 59 GR Christian 44: In a battle of two of the best teams in the area, the Cougars edged the Eagles with a strong start to the ballgame. Jack Karasinski and Kaden Brown each had 18 points for GRCC, as they move to 6-0. The Eagles missed Kobe Bufkin, who left the game in the first quarter and did not return. Donovan Brown-Boyd led GRC with 10 points.

Hudsonville 69 Forest Hills Central 56: The Eagles bested the Rangers in a non-league battle of strong basketball programs. Behind 17 points from Davis Magsig, the Eagles move to 5-1. FHC dropped to 2-3, despite 20 points from Jacob Bonnett.

Orchard View 83 Oakridge 54: The Cardinals remain unbeaten with a victory in the Brooks Road Showdown. They built a 27-11 lead after the first quarter, and proceeded to build that margin. Ke’ontae Barnes was 10/18 from the floor, finishing with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Jay Jay Tunstull had 21 points, and Darius Williams was also on triple-double watch (13 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals).

Rockford 79 Wyoming 52: The Rams took home a victory in a non-league contest against the Wyoming Wolves. Rockford built a 29-11 lead after the first quarter, a margin that proved to be the difference. Sam Krist had 25 points to lead the Rams, as he hit four three-pointers. Ramere Drapier paced the Wolves with 19 points.

Whitehall 55 Mona Shores 54: The Vikings needed all 55 points in a narrow victory over the Sailors. Casey Lownds led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Andrew Durbin added 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Caledonia 46 Grand Haven 36: The Fighting Scots earned their first victory of the 2021 season, as they took down the Bucs in OK Red play. Ellie Thelen powered the Caledonia offense with a team-high 14 points.

Cedar Springs 44 Lowell 30

Coloma 45 Fennville 27: The Blackhawks lost again, but they played some of their best basketball this season. They were down 18-2 after the first quarter, but nearly played Coloma even the remainder of the game. Ava Rosema and Elia Ruiz each scored 7 for Fennville.

Frankenmuth 42 Freeland 26: The Eagles captured another TVC victory, taking down Freeland in a Saturday road game. It was a six-point game at halftime, before Frankenmuth outscored Freeland 18-4 in the third quarter to create some separation. Lexi Boyke led the way with 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Emma Kerkau added 8 points.

Hart 41 Whitehall 28: The Pirates captured a WMC victory, taking down the Vikings. Whitehall led after the first quarter, but Hart won the next two quarters by a combined total 26-8 to zoom ahead. Jayd Hovey led Hart, and all scorers, with 14 points. She also added 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Aspen Boutell added 9 points and 4 rebounds.

Kent City 70 Grant 22: The Eagles move to 6-0 with a victory over the Tigers. Kenzie Bowers led the way with 28 points, Jenna Harrison added 13, and Kierra Flegel finished with 9 points.

McBain 50 Standish-Sterling 40: The Panthers suffered their first loss of 2021, falling against a talented McBain team. Macey Fegan had 17 points and 9 rebounds for Standish-Sterling.

Olivia Sobczak led all scorers with 20 points, Bri Wade added 9 and Riley Rosenthal finished with 8. Arrionna Williams had 11 points to lead Reeths-Puffer. Sophia Hekkema added 8 points and 7 rebounds for the Rockets.

Northpointe Christian 48 Muskegon Catholic Central 17: The Mustangs earned a non-league victory on Saturday, besting the Crusaders. They built a 28-8 lead at halftime, and coasted to the win. McKenna Gentry led MCC with 6 points.

Shelby 45 Fremont 35: The Tigers captured a non-league victory on Saturday. They held Fremont to 22% shooting and forced 19 turnovers. Kendall Zoulek paced Shelby with 17 points and 8 rebounds, and Lauren Dean added 8 points.

South Christian 50 Holland Christian 34: The Sailors move to 5-1 on the year with a win over the Maroons. Josie Vink led SC with 13 points, while both Ashley Raredon and Addyson VanSolkema each finished with 10 points. Elise Wyma and Sarah Snow both scored 11 points for Holland Christian.
