Forest Hills Central 61 Northview 56: The Rangers started 2021 with a statement win against the Wildcats. Dallas Hopson led FHC with sixteen points, while Jacob Bonnett added fifteen points and five steals. Kyler Vanderjagt was the top scorer for Northview with 25 points.

GR Catholic Central 58 South Christian 56: The Cougars and Sailors’ match-up was one of the most anticipated across the area, and it lived up to the billing. This game went down to the wire, and GRCC’s Jack Karasinski hit the game-winner at the buzzer (see video). Karasinski finished with 11 points, second on the team to Kaden Brown (14). Connor Dykema paced South Christian with 11.

Kalamazoo Christian 51 Kalamazoo Hackett 45: The Comets captured a victory on Wednesday against Hackett. Brandon DeVries led K-Christian with 16 points.

Marion 32 Walkerville 28: The Eagles edged out the Wildcats in a West Michigan “D” League contest. Marion overcome a fourth quarter deficit to pull out a victory. Mason Salisbury (12) and Aiden Yowell (11) led Marion, while Walkerville saw Alex Sheehy finish with a team-high nine points.

Otsego 63 Sturgis 45: The Bulldogs won on Wednesday with a victory over Sturgis. Thomas Kurowski led Sturgis with 26, while Otsego was powered by Ashton Atwater’s 20 points.

Ottawa Hills 59 Wayland 53: The Bengals started 2021 with a win over the Wildcats. Santanna Phillips led Ottawa Hills with seventeen points, while George Hatchett and Keveon Beal each added ten points. Brett Bultsma led Wayland with seventeen, while Austin Reeder (14) and Justin Holtz (13) joined him in double figures.

White Cloud 59 Hesperia 19: The Indians had a balanced performance in a victory against Hesperia. Taylor Bode led the team with thirteen points, while Dexter Cox and Mason Reuther posted eleven points each. Kile Pomeroy led Hesperia with seven points, while River Montague led the Panthers with eight rebounds. White Cloud defense forced thirty-five turnovers.

East GR 61 Byron Center 50: One of the area’s best teams started 2021 with a victory against the Bulldogs. Jillian Brown led East Grand Rapids with eighteen points.

Edwardsburg 56 Allegan 35

Gobles 66 Fennville 11: The Tigers topped the Black Hawks in Wednesday’s game. Gobles was ahead 41-3 at halftime, before their offense slowed down in the second half. Amanda Barber led Gobles with thirteen points, eight steals, three assists and two rebounds. Ava Rosema led Fennville with five points.

Hopkins 48 Godwin Heights 41: The Vikings won an OK Silver battle against Godwin. Lindsey Bulich (14) and Lexi Teunissen (13) finished in double figures, while Mady Weber led Hopkins with thirteen rebounds.

Kalamazoo Hackett 39 Kalamazoo Christian 30

Kent City 125 Lakeview 12: The Eagles posted a school record in scoring with a 125-12 victory against the Wildcats. Kenzie Bowers set a new school record with 46 points, and her sister Lexie Bowers added 24. Madelyn Geers scored 22 points, while Emmalyn Geers added eleven points.

Martin 30 Lawton 17: The Clippers started their season with a strong defensive effort against Lawton. Gracie Shettler was Martin’s top scorer with eleven points, while Makala Goddard added eight points in the freshman’s debut. Reese Olson led Lawton with six points.

Shelby 26 Mason County Central 22: The Tigers took a victory over Mason County Central on Wednesday night. Mason County Central finished 6/23 from the field, while Shelby was led by Lauren Brown (seven points and six rebounds).

South Christian 47 GR Catholic Central 25: The Sailors rode a strong second quarter to a victory over the Cougars. Sydney Vis led the team with 22 points, while Kate Passinault scored 7 to lead GRCC.

Standish Sterling 61 Millington 25: The Panthers got a big win over Millington on Wednesday night. Macey Fegan (24 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists) and Elle Adrian (22 points, 10 rebounds) both posted double-doubles in this victory.
