High school bowling continues to roll along on, with action across the area. A recap of Monday’s action:
BOYS BOWLING
Allendale 30 def Muskegon 0: The Falcons swept Muskegon with a strong showing on Monday. They won the two Baker Games, 256-86 and 182-85. Sean Jenkins (173-258), Gabe Netzel (190-190) and Mitchell Hartz (192) led Allendale with a strong showing.
Caledonia 27 def East Kentwood 3: The Fighting Scots won an OK Red match against the Falcons with a strong showing. Nick Dykstra (226-230), Ayden Sulzener (247-188) and Parker DeKubber (245-195) were the top three scorers, while the entire five-man team in the first individual games topped 200 pins.
East GR 28 def Forest Hills Central 2: The Baker Games sweep gave EGR an early 10-0 lead. Corbin Olsson paced EGR with a 243-227 series, while Cameron Brandstadt (197-202) and Finn Moher (182-205) added strong totals. FHC was led by Tyler Stiles, who posted a 244 game.
Fruitport 19 def Reeths-Puffer 11: Evan Simonis led the Trojans to their victory over the Rockets by posting a team-high 225. Bradon Krohn (170) and Cameron Weaver (165) had strong performances as well.
Kenowa Hills 29 def GR Catholic Central 1: The Knights rolled their way to a victory against the Cougars, nearly shutting them out. David Sepulreda (193-180) scored GRCC’s lone point. Luke Buck (244-233), Ben Adloff (195-201) and Greyson White (156-215) had strong showings for Kenowa.
Middleville 28 def Ottawa Hills 2: The Trojans had a strong showing against the Bengals to capture an OK Gold victory. Jaycee Quam (157-122) and Brooklyn Quam (129) were the top scorers for Ottawa Hills. Ethan Kriekaard (181-268), Wyatt Jacobson (214-180) and Michael Willshire (186-195) posted a trio of stellar scoring performances.
Northview 27 def Greenville 3: The Wildcats cruised to victory against the ‘Jackets. After sweeping the Baker Games, they won seven of ten individual games. Kyle Pranger (196-226) and Ethan Holt (196-182) paced Northview with strong games. Devin Knickerbocker (165-184) and Logan Nobles (195-185) posted Greenville’s best scores.
South Christian 20 def Cedar Springs 10: The Sailors got an OK Gold win with a strong performance against Cedar Springs. Lucas Hanline (171-244) and Luke Vanderlaan (221-189) were the top two scorers for South Christian. Alex Steil (199-195) led the Red Hawks with a strong day.
Sturgis 18 def Paw Paw 12: The Sturgis team led 6-4 after the Bakers, and they had strong individual play to deliver a victory. Jayden Chapman (235-168), Chris Quirin (217-180) and Caleb Henso Bolen (211) paced Sturgis to victory.
Wayland 28 def Forest Hills Eastern 2: The Wildcats coasted to victory against FHE on Monday. Lance Koelzer led FHE with a 350 series (159-191). Mark Musgrave (201-171), Alan Beggs (193-149), Tyler Omness (125-184) and Max Oosterhouse (173-128) posted 300+ series.
GIRLS BOWLING
Caledonia 16 def East Kentwood 14: The Falcons led 6-4 after the Baker Games, but Caledonia took the match. Kala Bisterfeldt (186-135) and Carley Hopkins (150-142) led the Fighting Scots, while Kari Ann Hall (147-180) led East Kentwood.
Cedar Springs 27 def South Christian 3: The Red Hawks rolled their way to victory against the Sailors. Lexi Westra was South’s top scorer with a 136-122 series. Chloe Fisk (151-179) and Kayla Walters (135-149) were the top two for Cedar Springs.
East GR 29 def Forest Hills Central 1: The Pioneers nearly swept the Rangers, with a 134 by Mary Kate Dean scoring the lone point for FHC. Anna Edleman (87-120) and Laura Hurlburt (128-95) both won a pair of points in this match.
Fruitport 29 def Reeths-Puffer 1: The Trojans won once more with a strong performance against the Rockets. Jessica Plichta (172-232) and Brynna Hanson (163-161) led the team.
GR Catholic Central 27 def Kenowa Hills 3: The Cougars rolled their way to victory against the Knights. Madi Kehoe (182-178) and Madison Mainey (128-165) were GRCC’s top scorers, while Natalie Williams (121-131) led Kenowa Hills.
Greenville 19 def Northview 11: The ‘Jackets had a strong Monday victory over Northview. They swept the Bakers before winning five individual games. Genesys Noble (197-143) was Greenville’s top scorer, while Northview was led by Abby Ludwick (177-194).
Muskegon 26 def Allendale 4: The Big Reds defeated the Falcons on Monday. Dakota Murdaugh led the Big Reds with a 203, while Maya Moore added a 168.
Sturgis 23 def Paw Paw 7: The Trojans started ahead 6-4 after the two Baker Games. Lydia Boland (156-119) and Janae Baumeister (149-110) posted the top scores for Sturgis.
Wayland 28 def Forest Hills Eastern 2: The Wildcats got back in the win column with a commanding victory against FHE. Kadence Bottrall (193-242) and Isabella Harnish (196-235) captured a pair of points with stellar efforts. FHE was led by Tina Ferrer (107-91).
