The Kent City Eagles improved to 4-0 on Friday night after taking down the White Cloud Indians by the score of 54-0. This victory earned Kent City at least a share of the CSAA-Silver.
The Eagles scored 24 points in the first quarter, 30 in the second quarter, and they then used the running clock in the second half.
Webb Longcore had a phenomenal game for the Eagles, as he turned ten carries into 99 yards and three touchdowns. Fellow sophomore Kyle Larson was perfect under center, as he went 6/6 passing for 97 yards. Larson also added two two-point conversion rushes.
Defensively, Kyle Montarusso led the charge. He had three tackles and three interceptions on the evening. Bradley Brooks chipped in four tackles and two interceptions, as Kent City held White Cloud to -29 yards rushing and 18 yards of total offense.
White Cloud falls to 1-3 with the loss, and they will face Three Oaks River Valley next week. As for Kent City, they are now 4-0. They will take on Lakeview next week in their CSAA-Silver finale, with a shot to win the outright league title.
