After that early season defeat against Frankenmuth, the Freeland Falcons rallied for a nail-biting win over Alma last week. This week, the train continued to roll as they racked up a plethora of points in the opening half to create an insurmountable margin against Birch Run. Ultimately, the Falcons won this one 52-14.

Bryson Huckeby started things with a touchdown pass of twenty five yards to Alex Duley. This combo would connect for a second time in the first quarter on a fifty-three yard touchdown to make it 14-0 Falcons after twelve minutes of action.

As the second quarter was underway, Huckeby continued to sling the football around the field. He found Easton Armstrong on a sixty-five yard pass to push the lead to twenty-one. Freeland was far from finished scoring in the second quarter, as they racked up three more touchdowns. First, Jacob Kudinger ran it in from two yards out. On their ensuing drive, Easton Armstrong scored for the second time, though this time it was on a seventeen yard run. In the final scoring play of the first half, Garrett Pistro, last week’s hero, got into the end zone on a one yard plunge. This brought the lead to 39-0 in favor of Freeland as the teams broke for halftime.

With the running clock in effect for the second half, the scoring chances were limited for Freeland. The clock did not factor into the first score however, as Easton Armstrong took the opening kickoff of the second half seventy two yards to the end zone. Birch Run would get into the end zone in the third quarter when Briggson Cook ran for a two yard score.

The Panthers got one more touchdown in this contest as Jacen Torrez was able to find the end zone from fourteen yards out. Before the game came to an end, Carter Suppes powered through the Birch Run defense for a one yard touchdown run.

Next week, Freeland (2-1) will host Swan Valley in a crucial game in the TVC title race. This game will be broadcast LIVE on Michigan Sports Radio on Friday night!
