The Central Montcalm Hornets improve to 2-0 for the second straight season as they took care of Chippewa Hills on Friday night. After jumping out to a comfortable lead, they won this game 19-7.
Brock Ryan started the scoring for Central Montcalm in the first quarter when he ran in a touchdown from a yard out. Another stellar play in the first quarter came from Trey Chapin, who intercepted a Warriors pass. This would be the first of two turnovers that he forced, as he recovered a fumble in the second quarter.
Fisher Hill took control of the scoring in the middle two quarters for Central Montcalm as the receiver caught a pair of touchdown passes to expand the lead. In the second quarter, he caught a thirty-five yard touchdown to push the lead to thirteen. Central Montcalm led 19-0 after his second touchdown, a six yard catch.
In the fourth quarter, Chippewa Hills scored a late touchdown, but the game had all but been decided at this point.
The Hornets improved to 2-0 for the second year in a row. They will look to extend their streak in the third game of the 2020 campaign where they will take on Reed City. This game will be broadcast LIVE on Michigan Sports Radio.
