The conference season is underway and things are starting to heat up on the hardwood, and our coverage is picking top right alongside the action, and Tuesday will present a massive night of action as many teams will jump back into some featured non-confercne battles after starting league play last Friday – Let’s take a look at some of the big games you can catch tomorrow night on MSR!

BYRON CENTER vs ROCKFORD – BOYS

The final game of the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament will take place between two of the area’s absolute best – who each have been red hot as of late and racking up some big-time wins. Rockford sits at 7-1 (with the lone loss coming in a tight one to reigning champions OLSM and Trey McKenney) and dominated on Friday night against a really good Grand Haven team 76-37. That game was the 5th time this year the Rams have scored at least 68 points, all while never giving up more than 51. The Rams are loaded with talent, but continue to keep an eye on the freshman duo of Josh Bascom and Eli Wolfe – each of which have been great and continue to improve early in their HS careers.

Byron Center have been on a tear as of late, winning 6 in a row, including premier wins over the likes of GRCC, Warren Lincoln and Lansing Catholic. If you haven’t seen the Bulldogs since the first couple of weeks of the year – This is a much different team that’s starting to gel – adding in players that were a part of the extended football championship run like senior guard Isaac Lee and getting transfer forward Jaden Bowman fully integrated into the attack.

This could be one of the best games of the year – As each team have Breslin Center aspirations and will look to make a featured statement on the Cornerstone floor. Radio coverage begins at 6:30pm, with tip-off set for 7:00!

ROCKFORD vs MUSKEGON – GIRLS

The Rockford girls are also back in action as Miss Basketball contender Anna Wypych and the Rams look to move to 8-1 on the year vs Muskegon. The Rams were able to pick up a 60-48 win over a well coached and talented Grand Haven squad Friday to open up conference play in the OK-Red gauntlet.

Muskegon is 3-4 and have battled through a tough early schedule, including a one pointless to perennial power Detroit Edison early in the season, they won over Jenison on Friday to open up their OK-Green season – and now the Lady Big Reds will look to pull the upset and make a statement over one of the state’s leading championship contenders in D1

GR CATHOLIC CENTRAL vs FOREST HILLS EASTERN – BOYS

Catholic Central and first year head coach Chris Pearl picked up a marquee win on their 5-3 season on Friday, as they downed GR Christian in the conference opener 54-43. They’ll look to carry that momentum ahead Tuesday in another league game against Forest Hills Eastern. The Cougars will look to find a little bit more of a scoring groove next time out, as they have played a few ‘grinders’ in a row lately, scoring less than 50 points in four of their last six contests – They have defended incredibly well still, winning in two of those four still. With scoring threats like Zay Larthridge, the Cougars could be set to break back out.

FHE will be looking for a statement win of their own on their home floor to get back to .500, the Hawks now sit a 3-4 with losses in four of their last five after a 2-0 start. An interesting note here, the Hawks also are led by a first-year head coach, like the Cougars, in Dylan Liddell.

Coverage begins at 6:50, with tip scheduled for 7:00pm from FHE!

Make sure to check in on game day as well as other matchups could be added to the schedule. We’ll check back in here on Thursday to take a look back at some of these results and preview a big Friday of conference action coming up!
