An exciting football season is in the books following a great weekend at Ford Field that crowned the Zeeland West Dux  as the lone GR area champion after a hard-fought season. Now, the attention turns to another chase for the title – this time ending at the Breslin Center in March!

Our hoops coverage has already been underway for more than a week, with some big games in the books and this week we will have coverage across the area of a huge week of prime-time non-conference matchups and compete coverage of two premier showcase events!

First, make sure you check out the updated basketball schedule pages for boys and girls basketball – and keep up with what the upcoming slate is for all of your favorite teams and rivals as the season gets underway!

We’ll also have written and other featured content throughout the week to help preview the games upcoming on MSR.

And as far as live games go, this is a PACKED week of action already! Along with some great matchups coming up live on Tuesday and Friday night, we will feature video coverage of all four games at the Hudsonville Showcase and video coverage of all four games at ‘The Invite’ at Calvin University on Saturday.

Later in the week, we’ll preview the games more – But the invite will feature some of the biggest west-side vs. west-side games you’ll see all season long: As GR Christian will start the day by taking on Grand Haven, then Unity Christian and GR Catholic Central duel, followed by neighboring rivals South Christian and Byron Center, and a final matchup featuring the area’s arguable top two teams -Northview and Rockford!

At Hudsonville, we’ll have some great cross-state matchups that could give a very early look at some possible later playoff battles looming! Grandville opens with Grand Blanc, then Grand Ledge plays Ferndale, before Muskegon and West Bloomfield show off, all setting up tournament host Hudsonville taking on Detroit Catholic Central!

It’s going to be a great week, and a great season of hoops on MSR – We’ll have coverage throughout the rest off the non confercne season, complete coverage of the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament, and of course all of the biggest games all year long once conference play and then the March Magic run to the Breslin Center begins!
