Grand Rapids Catholic Central had little trouble in their Week 7 contest, disposing of Forest Hills Eastern 49-14. This victory sets up a thrilling OK Gold battle between GRCC and the South Christian Sailors, as both teams will enter with 6-1 overall records and perfect OK Gold campaigns.
Kellen Russell-Dixon got the party started for the victors with a 73-yard touchdown sprint just 17 seconds into action. FHE would respond quickly, however, as they got their own 3-minute touchdown drive. The Cougars would conclude the opening quarter scoring with a short quarterback keeper by Connor Wolf, giving them the 14-7 lead.
FHE would answer again, this time on a 4-yard touchdown carry. From that point forward, it would be all Cougars with 35 unanswered points. Three more times Russell-Dixon found the end zone, while Brock Jones and Austin Baxter added to the scoring tally.
Kellen Russell-Dixon led the victorious offensive attack with 270 rushing yards and four touchdowns on just 17 carries. The Cougars as a team ran for 316 yards.
