The Grandville Bulldogs continued their winning ways with their third straight victory in the OK Red. This week, they defeated East Kentwood 44-6.
Just two minutes into the game, Grandville got on the scoreboard. Donnie Osborne powered across the goal line from two yards out, giving the Bulldogs the early 6-0 lead. They would take this advantage into the second quarter.
As the second frame commenced, Grandville pushed their lead out. Cade Pilczuk plunged into the end zone from a yard out, while Ian Sanders added the two-point conversion. Midway through the quarter, Ian Sanders would score a touchdown, an 8-yard quarterback keeper. Over the final three minutes, Grandville would find the end zone twice more. Donnie Osborn (1 yard), and Cade Pilczuk (3 yards) each toted the football across the goal line, giving Grandville a 37-0 halftime lead.
With the running clock in effect, scoring was limited in the second half. Grandville got a 94-yard touchdown sprint from Ian Sanders early in the third quarter. East Kentwood would prevent the shutout when Joshua Perry found the end zone from six yards out.
Ian Sanders, aided by his lengthy touchdown, led Grandville with 128 rushing yards. Cade Pilczuk chipped in 101 yards, while Donnie Osborn added 60 yards on the ground.
Next week, Grandville (4-3) will take on Hudsonville in a rivalry game. East Kentwood (1-6) faces off against Grand Haven on Friday.
