The latest batch of Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week are here! Below are our picks for top performances in Week 5 of the 2020 season:
Clay Udell (FHC): The Forest Hills Central senior scored in an incredible moment on Friday against Northview. Check out the video here.
Andrew Kooi (Montague): The Wildcats topped Whitehall in a 2OT thriller, and Kooi came up big in the final frame. He booted the game-winning field goal to keep The Bell in Montague.
Braeden Carskadon (Hart): The Pirates snapped a thirteen-game losing streak, and the quarterback was the star of the show. He passed for 117 yards and a touchdown, but the biggest contribution was on the ground. He ran 41 times for 326 yards, five touchdowns and four two-point conversions in their 46-36 win over Shelby.
Corey Vandeputte (Oakridge): The Eagles won over Ravenna, and the tailback had 15 carries for 204 yards and two touchdowns.
Dahmir Farnum (Mona Shores): The Sailors scored a school-record 77 points, and Farnum had quite a night. On only nine carries, he racked up 232 carries and scored four touchdowns.
Jake Zimmer and Blake Bosma (West Ottawa): This senior combo has been electric all season, and they had one of their best performances on Friday in a loss to Hudsonville. Zimmer ran for 165 yards and three touchdowns, and he also passed for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Bosma caught 12 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns.
Matt Greenfield (Tri-County): The Vikings lost, but Greenfield had a great night on the gridiron. He had three sacks, including one that recorded a two-point safety. On offense, Greenfield caught a touchdown pass.
Myles Walton (Muskegon): Walton provided one of the most electric plays of the season when he returned a punt 95 yards to carry the Big Reds past Zeeland West. Check out the video here.
Nate Ross (Jenison): The Wildcats’ kicker converted an extra point and three field goals (22, 25 and 26 yards) in their victory.
Noah Arsulowicz (West Catholic): The Falcons’ quarterback was an effective passer, tossing for 144 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for two touchdowns.
Robby Slaughter (Hastings): The Saxons won their first Interstate 8 title and Slaughter made huge contributions in the ground game. He turned his carries into 138 yards and three touchdowns
Sam Cochran (Zeeland East): The Chix put a plethora of points on the board, and Cochran contributed with two touchdowns that weren’t on offense. He returned a kickoff seventy-five yards for a touchdown, and he also recorded a thirty-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Ty Rynbrandt (South Christian): The Sailors remained unbeaten, and the quarterback was the star of the show. He finished 20/28 for 209 yards and three touchdowns.
