The boys playoffs pairing have been released (you can check them out over on MHSAA.com) and see where your team is headed and who they are playing in the districts, and the same will be done for the girls this week, as we are into the final week(s) of the regular season- – it’s time to crown conference champions and make the final playoff push.

Let’s start with a shaken up RE/MAX United Power Poll…

BOYS POWER POLL – 2/17

BOYS POLL NOTES

Eagles on the Move – Despite having a couple more losses than the teams below them, a big week that featured on the 2nd win anyone has has against Rockford has rocketed the Eagles to the number three spot in our poll. The Eagles are in prime position for the playoffs and should be a force to be reckoned with well into March.

More Top 5 Shakeups – The top was was further shaken up (besides the Eagles flying to the three spot) with a very  surprising loss for former #2 Unity Christian against Hamilton that drops them a few spots. Northview moves out of the top 5, but spots 3-6 are all razor thin.

Steady Top-10 – Despite the moving around within the rankings, the same 10mteams remained in the poll this week, with the back half of the top ten remaining steady from 7-10 as well, Byron Center remins just ahead of GRCC, despite the Cougars conference Championship win and hot streak, with a H2H advantage – but it remains very close for that spot as well.

GIRLS POWER POLL – 2/17

GIRLS POLL NOTES

Huskies on the Rise – FHN has restarted a winning streak after a pair of mid-season losses and have climbed back into the top 5 this week of an otherwise pretty steady poll by the standards of the ups and downs that the girls seasons has given our rankings

Maroons Drop – Holland Christian’s loss to a very good 12-7 Zeeland east team that is just on the outside looking in was enough to narrowly drop the Maroons from the top 5, especially given the hot streak and now 17 wins that FHN have racked up.

Steady at the Top – The top 4 in the poll remained the same with South Christian picking up a couple of wins to retain their two spot that they earned with the H2H win over West Catholic two weeks ago.
