It was quite the dominant performance from the Hastings Saxons on Friday night. The Saxons started the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run from Lanny Teunessen to put the Saxons up 6-0. Robby Slaughter and Teunessen would trade touchdowns for the rest of the half. Slaughter would score from 25, 12, and 63 yards and Teunessen from 1 and 3 yards, with both ending up with three touchdowns a piece. Hastings would take a 46-0 lead into the half, which was more than enough in a 60-8 final score.

Hastings averaged 11.1 yards per play for the game and ran for 443 yards. Robby Slaughter was the leading rusher for the Saxons with 12 attempts for 203 yards and a hat trick of scores. Lanny Teunessen would also have a hat trick of touchdowns to go with 12 carries for 66 yards. Haiden Simmet also had 6 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown. Layton Eastman had a pick six on defense as well.

Hastings will look to move to 6-1 on the season next week at home against Parma Western. Marshall will play host next week against Lumen Christi.
