The WMC Lakes Division saw Fremont and Orchard View square off in a league battle. A strong start for the visiting Packers allowed them to secure a 38-16 victory.
Fremont scored the lone first quarter touchdown, a 12-yard carry from Justin Dirheimer. Five seconds into the second frame, Talen Reicher-Slater found Gabe Curtice for a 20-yard touchdown lead. The Packers led 14-0 after the second score.
Orchard View found the end zone on a 62-yard sprint to the goal line from Alexander Theile. Fremont would answer back with another Dirheimer run to take a 22-8 lead into the locker room.
Enrique Gutierrez tried to keep Orchard View in it with a 79-yard sprint to the end zone. Trailing by just six, hope sprang eternal on the Cardinals sideline.
Fremont would quiet those aspirations with two touchdowns over the final sixteen minutes of the game. Owen Hertel showed off his distance running ability with a 62-yard carry to paydirt. With four minutes to go, Dirheimer completed the hat trick with a 6-yard touchdown carry.
With this victory, Fremont improves to 4-2. This is the most victories in a season for the Packers since 2014, when they finished 4-5. Next week, they will take on Montague. Orchard View remains winless at 0-6, but their offense continues to show consistency. They now have multiple touchdowns in three straight games. Next week, the Cardinals will face Oakridge.
