The United Titans had their work cut out for them against the Stevensville-Lakeshore Lancers on Thursday. The scoring got started with a pair of first quarter touchdowns by Quarterback JJ Manion. He scored his first on a keeper, and then on a 9-yard option score. The Titans extended their lead to 20 with a 3-yard score from Liam Mann.
Lakeshore got on the board with an 11-yard scamper from Ryan Korfmacher. The Titans would command a 20-7 lead going into the half.
JJ Manion would work his magic with another score on the ground early in the second half. The Lancers responded with a couple of touchdowns from Korfmacher, this time through the air. The first was caught by Alec Wojahn for 23-yards. The second saw Trevor Griffiths cross the goal line to bring the Lancers to within 6.
Liam Mann would put the game to rest with a 55-yard burst in the fourth quarter to put the Titans out of reach. Lakeshore would score one final touchdown with eight seconds to play, but they will suffer a 33-27 defeat.
JJ Manion would score on a hat trick of touchdowns on the ground for United. He had 107 yards on 20 carries, along with 152 yards to go through the air. Liam Mann had 129 yards on 20 carries and a pair of touchdowns.
Kalamazoo United United will take on Schoolcraft next Friday. Lakeshore will be on the road next week at Mattawan.
