The North Muskegon Norsemen entered Friday night as the #30 team in Division 7 playoff standings. Facing a Division 4 Ludington program, the opportunity for playoff points was immense. North Muskegon seized that opportunity, capturing a 25-0 victory.

Despite playing on their third quarterback this fall, North Muskegon’s offense continued to score. Ben Meyers got the Norsemen rolling with a 6-yard quarterback keeper. In the second quarter, Meyers rushed for two more scores, runs of 6 and 45 yards. This gave the Norsemen an 18-0 halftime lead.

Neither team scored in the third quarter, but the fourth quarter saw Bo Nedeau power across the goal line from 3 yards out. At the midpoint of the fourth quarter, the Norsemen secured their 25-0 victory.

Ben Meyers was 5/9 passing for 25 yards, and he turned 16 carries into 111 yards and three touchdowns. Nick Dana added 60 rushing yards on 9 carries.

Trey Forfinski was 4/15 passing for Ludington. Forfinski was Ludington’s leading rusher with 47 yards on 16 carries. Levi Laman turned three catches into 82 yards.

Next week, North Muskegon will be in the postseason. They will find out their destination and opponent on Sunday at the Selection Show.
