The ninth week of the season pitted Forest Hills Northern against Greenville. With playoff berths out of the question, these two teams battled for pride and bragging rights on Friday night. FHN jumped out to a hot start, scoring the game’s first 31 points, allowing the Huskies to capture a 38-13 victory.
Curt Andrews wasted no time in getting FHN on the scoreboard. Just fifty-seven seconds into the game, he rushed for a 4-yard score. Near the midpoint of the frame, Andrews scored again, this time a 5-yard carry. With forty-five seconds to go in the quarter, Huskies’ quarterback Travis Myers used his legs on a 21-yard quarterback keeper. This extended the lead to 18-0 for Forest Hills Northern after twelve minutes of action.
In the second quarter, Myers extended the lead. The signal-caller once again scrambled, breaking free on a 52-yard touchdown. A failed conversion left FHN ahead 24-0 at the break. Coming out of the locker room, the Huskies scored twelve seconds in. Jamie Le added to the tally with a 65-yard sprint to the end zone.
Trailing 31-0 after three quarters, Greenville finally responded in the opening plays of the final frame. AJ Fox and Jagger Feazel paired up for the third time this fall, completing a 19-yard touchdown pass. Theo Koch answered for FHN with a nice 69-yard dash across the goal line. As the game concluded, AJ Fox used his legs for a 5-yard touchdown run.
