The Frankenmuth Eagles began TVC Central play with a game against Swan Valley. From the beginning of the game, Frankenmuth was in control, as the Eagles won 47-20.
After a quick defensive stop, Frankenmuth got on the scoreboard with a 59-yard punt return touchdown by Sam Barger. Just three minutes later, Cole Jankowski and Hunter Leddy connected on a 30-yard touchdown that moved the lead to fourteen points.
Dayne Reif led the defensive charge for Frankenmuth, securing an interception and returning it for a touchdown. Swan Valley finally got on the board when freshman quarterback Colton Klein kept the football for a 10-yard run. As the first quarter came to a close, Jankowski reeled off a another quarterback run that pushed the lead to 27-7.
In the second quarter, scoring was slow, with Cole Jankowski scoring the lone touchdown on a quarterback keeper. This gave the Eagles a commanding 34-7 halftime lead.
Swan Valley scored the sole touchdown of the third quarter, as Klein and Drew Kaeckmeister paired up for a 10-yard score. On an ensuing Swan Valley possession, the Vikings got deep inside the red zone, but they were stonewalled by the Frankenmuth front line. The Eagles responded with a four quarter score on a 97-yard run by Cole Lindow.
Sam Barger would reemerge in the scoring column with a late fourth quarter touchdown. Swan Valley concluded the offensive outputs with a touchdown by Matthew Stark.
Next week, the undefeated Eagles will travel to Birch Run. Swan Valley, who is 0-2 this season, will host Essexville Garber next Friday, desperate for a victory.
