TEAM OUTLOOK

Carlton Brewster enters his fourth season at Wyoming trying to build the program at a school that has only been to the postseason once since it’s founding in 2012. This year several key returners expected to take a leap, along with a move to the new OK-Gold will give the team a chance to take a leap in 2024.

Jay Johnson returns to quarterback the Wolves this year, and will serve as a vocal leader off the field along with his key play on it. This is the first year that coach Brewster has had a returning QB during his tenure and the natural athlete Johnson is expected to also make a leap in his ability to throw the ball after putting work in this offseason. Junior Tascano will be one of Johnson’s key targets at WR/TE that stands out. The Wolves also have a deep group of running backs and the team will also be able to lean on a strong group of offensive lineman that will be one of the team’s strengths.

On defense, that strength up front will translate with many of the same group from the offensive line anchoring things on the DL. Senior Darius Scott at defensive end will be one of the key players in the group, with the staff expecting a big step up this season out of the senior.
