TEAM OUTLOOK

Fresh off a 6-4 season that notably included a week nine win over state championship runners-up South Christian, Wayland Union is ready to take the next step as they look for the WIldcats first playoff win since 2013 this season. The team moves out of the difficult OK-Gold from a season ago and into the new-look OK-White

Coach Tim Gibson will look to Carson Reurink in his senior season to quarterback the offense this year. Reurink is a three-year varsity player, but this will be his first year at QB and provides a physical ability to run the football that will add a new dynamic to the offense in 2024. Hudson Biondo will play his fourth varsity season this season and will be leaned on at running back after playing more on the defensive side in the past few seasons, coach Gibson is looking to Biondo to show his ability to lead the group and flash his natural skill on the offensive side. Evan Noyes will anchor the offensive line and is getting some college looks, he will be one of the better offensive lineman in the conference this season.

On defense, there’s again a lot of experience, led by third-year starting varsity linebacker Trent Sikkema. Logan Hall, who also will play Center started at defensive end as a sophomore and will be dangerous coming off the edge in his junior campaign. Biondo also will be back at SS, along with his new RB role.
