This season will be season number four for Ryan Oshnock as the head coach for the Northview Wildcats, and the ‘Cats will be looking for a second straight trip to the playoffs this year, after a 4-6 season and playoff appearance a season ago.
The team will critically be able to return their starting QB from 2023 in senior Armaan Irving. Irving accounted for 14 touchdowns in his junior season in eight games played and is a terrific dual-threat athlete with great speed to go along with his arm. Junior Will Seniura will rejoin Irving in the backfield this season at tailback, Seniura started down the stretch last season as a sophomore and is a strong power back to complement Irving. Jack VanProoyen, who starred on the hardwood as a sophomore last season will make the jump to varsity football as well this year in his junior season as a lanky TE/H-Back in the Wildcats spread offense system.
Defensively, senior SS Danny Robach returns for another season for the ‘Cats, as he’ll be a leader in the secondary as a multi-faceted player in coverage and crashing in to help with run support. VanProoyen also will see some key play on this side of the ball as an athletic and long edge rusher. Carson Ginn will also be an anchor on the D Line at defensive end, the junior was a key piece to the defense in 2023 and will be again this year, he’ll also play some on the other side of the ball at offensive tackle.
