2024 begins a new era in Jenison, as the Wildcats have welcomed in Josh Lucas as the new head coach for the program, as they look to find their way up the standings of the OK-Red. Lucas is entering his 10th season as a head coach, he was notably last at Chelsea for the past six seasons, punctuated by the 2021 season, where he led the Bulldogs to a Division 4 state championship, doing so in thrilling walk-off-field-goal fashion over Unity Christian, a school that he now part-time shares a stadium with.
The team has added a lot of depth (in fact, they’ve doubled their roster from 2023) and changed the scheme from the pistol option used in previous seasons, and Lucas will look to the winner of a QB battle between three different players in fall camp to lead the way on offense. Exciting junior WR Charlie Norton will be back in the mix this year on offense, as Connor Householder will also line up as one of the team’s anchors on the offensive line. A.J. Park is also an exciting TE of the team bringing a 6’3, 220 pound frame.
Defensively, Dylan Gage and Ian Baryanas will each be senior leaders on the defensive line, as the team looks to slow down many of the dynamic offenses throughout the OK-Red.
