It’s a year of firsts for Greenville in 2024, as they welcome in new head coach Scott McDougall for his first season at the same time that the team moves to the new Rivers Cities Alliance Conference. The last non-COVID season the Yellow Jackets made then playoffs was in a 5-5 2016 campaign, the Jackets have one of the best stadiums in the state of Michigan, and coach McDougall will look to build a product on the field that matches the brand of Greenville football and Legacy Field.
Greenville had a young team in 2023, and the former Otsego HC McDougall will have a lot of returning pieces, notably including the team’s QB last season, Noah Long. Long will come into his senior season looking to grow on a solid campaign last season, at 6’3 and 215 pounds, Long has a good frame and athleticism on the run to complement his experience and arm talent. Long will be joined by Case Johson, the senior served as the team’s power back last season and is a dominant short yardage and power run back at 220 pounds – He also has some breakaway speed to add to the power.
The Jackets defense will also have a lot of returning experience and size, starting up front with defensive end Zeke Robinet, who is a force in run stopping and the pass rush game. 260 pound senior DT Ryan Parsons also will help lead from the front line on defense – Parson will also play center on offense. Jordan Sholley is a big hybrid OLB and defensive line option, and at 260 pounds and some offensive line experience, he’ll soak up a ton more of the opponent’s run game. Players like Long at safety and Johnson at linebacker will also play a big role on the other side of the ball.
