TEAM OUTLOOK

After a 2-7 2023 campaign, Brandon Kimble and his Godwin Heights Wolverines are looking to ride their new-look OK-Silver schedule to a few more wins and the team’s first playoff bid since 2020.

Athletic QB Keion Beasley is back for his senior season, after starting at the position last year for coach Kimble. Beasley is a dual-threat that is mobile in the pocket with a big arm, but especially can be dangerous when he uses his legs in the designed and ‘escape-act’ run game. The team will have a lot of young junior and underclassmen weapons as a part of the team this season that will be finding their way into growing roles. Senior Patrick Knight is one key returner, he’ll play a huge role on the defensive side of the ball at linebacker, but also will likely step into a big role on the offensive line at center. Junior Jammarrie Woodwyk played offensive guard as a sophomore and will be back in that role as a leader of the O-Line in 2024.

On defense, the two-way players will be some of the key leaders – notably Knight in his primary position at MLB and Woodwyk, stepping into a defensive tackle role on this side of the ball. Barnard Davis is a sophomore call up that will be a part of the offensive skill position mix at RB, but also will play a role on defense at safety. Junior Taisjon Allen played corner last season, and will step into that role again this season.
