TEAM OUTLOOK

Forest Hills Eastern made a fourth straight trip to the postseason in 2023, and Joe Schwander’s sixth season with the Hawks could set up to be one of their best. They move to the OK-Whire with a vastly different schedule on tap, but FHE also returns a lot of talent from a tough and physical team a year ago.

Brendan Thompson played QB for the team as a sophomore before avint to miss last season, he returns this year to run the offense in his senior season, he will also be joined by junior Kenric Penkavich in the mix for a QB spot for a team that operated QB by committe in 2023 and will look to solidify things more this year. Ace Simonson was an all-state guard last season and returns for his senior year to help anchor the offensive line on an offensive unit that returns seven starters, including 4-year starter at RB Max Ferrick.

On defense, again you’ll see Simonson up front playing two ways at DT and Ferrick in the secondary at safety. Noah Bartley is a three year player in the middle of the defesne at lienbacker. Simonson will be joined up front at DT by Edem Denoo, who has multiple GLIAC offers to play at the next level.
