This year is season number six for Eddie Ostipow at Forest Hills Northern, and the Huskies will be looking to build on a 6-5 season and playoff berth in 2023 this season. The Huskies will make the move to the new, incredibly tough, OK-Green. Their schedule will be punctuated with an immensely tough stretch starting week three, where they will play FHC (2023 D3 state champ), Muskegon (2023 D2 state champ), Reeths Puffer, Mona Shores (Both D2 playoff teams), and Byron Center (2023 D2 State quarterfinalist).
The Huskies have a pair of QBs battling for the starting job going into camp this year – junior Cass Anderson and sophomore Owen Ostipow – who both are new to the team this year, and the staff is potentially looking to play both going into the season. Leading rusher from last season Colton Sawyer returns this season, and the junior leads a great stable of talent in the RB room for FHN. The team has a quartet of returning senior wide receivers and a good core of returners up front on the offensive line, along with returning starting TE Christian Granstone to help out in both aspects.
Ike DeHaan leads the team on the defensive line for the Huskies and senior OLB Caleb Hill will anchor the middle of the defense. In the secondary, Cooper Clark, Mateo Rodriguez and Owen Ostipow will be starters.
