There will be a lot of change on the field in 2024 for the Rangers of F.H.C., as long-time head coach Tim Rogers was able to go out on top, retiring after leading his team to the 2023 state championship in division three. Dave Fortino will be the new man leading Central in his first season as a head coach, and he’ll have a lot of big shoes to fill around his program as they play a tough schedule in the re-worked OK-Gold – Including both Zeeland schools and Unity & South Christian.
On Offense the team will look to a duo at quarterback to lead the way, as the staff expects both senior Max Holser and junior Nick Williams to see significant time calling the shots. Senior Brendan Cargill is back at receiver and will likely be a favorite target of the QB duo throughout the season. Seder Middaugh at TE and Matt Sexton at FB will each play a big role in an offense that calls on power and running the ball along with needing to be active in the pass game out of those spots.
Defense was the calling-card of the title team last year, and really every Ranger team under Tim Rogers. Without now-Purdue safety Ty Hudkins, they will have to look to new leaders on what should be a very stout group again in 2024. Orion Roskam will play in the middle of the defensive line and will be a key cog in the new defensive wheel. Two-way players Middaugh and Sexton will each lock down the outside linebacker spots and Brendan Cargill will play two ways as a corner on this side of the ball. Alex Dixon will join the 2-way duo in the middle of the defense at MLB.
