The Belding Black Knights have strung together four-straight playoffs-qualifying seasons for coach Monty Price, who was inducted into the Michigan HS Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame last winter and is one of the best coaches in the area and will have a powerful run game out of the Knights T offense that could carry them to a title and beyond in the new-look OK-Silver.
Coach Price has traditionally used a unique twist on his Power-T offense, with a single split out WR, vs the 2 TE look at places like Grandville or Zeeland West. And the returning backs will help move this offense along. Third year starter and power back Hunter Conrad is a 230lb load to bring down that fights for every yard needed. Cody Manley is a tall speed back that is a dynamic runner in a lot of aspects. And returning FB TJ Smith is a perfect dynamic mix of speed and power needed in a ‘T’ middle back. Senior OL Riley Powers will lead the offensive line for a third season, helping bulldoze for the dynamic trio of backs.
The defense will feature a lot of the same names playing both ways, led by Conrad in the middle of everything at MLB. Smith will also play alongside Conrad on this side of the ball at OLB. Blake Peasley will lead the secondary at FS, and also will be in that single WR role on the other side of the ball.
