The Cedar Springs Red Hawks posted another strong OK Gold showing, as they faced little resistance against the Kenowa Hills Knights. It was a cruise control victory for Coach Gus Kapolka’s squad, a 38-0 win.
In the first quarter, Cedar Springs scored twice. Unsurprisingly, they both came on the ground. On the opening drive, Aiden Brunin powered across the goal line for a 4-yard touchdown run. Alex Ream added a successful two-point conversion. Later in the frame, Antwuan Nicholls ran up the middle for a 27-yard touchdown. Brunin and Ryan Mitchell connected on a conversion pass for the Red Hawks, giving the team a 16-0 lead.
The second quarter was more of the same for Cedar, as they scored sixteen points. Just a minute into the frame, Ryan Mitchell ran to the left 11 yards into the end zone. Alex Ream would chip in the two-point run. Carter Falan showed his speed later in the second, with a 71-yard sprint to the end zone. Brunin ran in the conversion that gave the team a 32-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Antwuan Nicholls added his eighth rushing touchdown of 2021. This 32-yard jaunt up the middle moved the game to its final tally, 38-0.
