Brady White led the Zeeland East offense with two touchdowns in this game. On the Puffer side, Ben Veihl tossed for two scores. He connected with Jarren Vandenburg and Tate Vanderleese on those scoring plays.
Paige Westra was the difference, as she buried a field goal for the Chix. Reeths Puffer had multiple chances to convert, but two critical turnovers doomed the Rockets’ offensive takeoff. Veihl threw a pair of costly interceptions. In the first half, his red zone pass was picked off. On the final play of the game, he heaved the ball toward the end zone, and it was intercepted once more.
Zeeland East moves to 3-1 with their victory in this game. They will face Mona Shores next Friday in a pivotal OK Green battle. Puffer now holds an even 2-2 record. They will battle with Zeeland West in their next contest.
