The latest batch of Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week are here! Below are our picks for top performances in Week 2 of the 2020 season:
Brennan Hayes (Hudsonville): The Eagles’ quarterback was 8/11 for 254 yards and four touchdowns, shining bright in a 53-0 win over Grand Haven.
Grandville Offensive Line: The Bulldogs scored 54 points in an impressive rushing attack. While Cam Terry and Marcel Love each had three touchdowns a piece, the Big Dawgs of the offensive line opened up running lanes all night long, as they scored seven times on the ground.
Jadon Vandalsen (Jenison): The Wildcats’ quarterback had a stellar performance on Friday. He tossed a touchdown in the first half, but the impact was felt more so on the ground. He led all carriers with 197 yards and he crossed the end zone three times in this victory.
Malekhi Obande (Unity Christian): Obande did a little bit of everything in this win, as he racked up 183 rushing yards and a touchdown, converted a two-point conversion and made an interception on defense. Obande also kicked the extra points for the Crusaders.
Nate Lovell (Tri-County): Lovell turned 23 carries into 119 yards and two crucial touchdowns in the Vikings’ 26-7 victory over Newaygo on Friday. night.
Nathan Milanowski (EGR): The Pioneers rolled over Greenville, and Milanowski scored three of EGR’s seven touchdowns. He had six carries that tallied up 94 yards and two touchdowns, while his two catches saw 71 yards and a third score added to the ledger.
Trey Chapin (Central Montcalm): The Hornets won 19-7 over Chippewa Hills, and Chapin spearheaded the defense with tremendous big play capability. He intercepted a pass to stall a drive, and he also recovered a key fumble later in the contest.
Zach Mitchell (Spring Lake): The Lakers’ quarterback was effective when he threw the football (3/4), but he made his largest impact on the ground. Mitchell had seven carries for 115 yards and a touchdown, scoring eight of the Lakers’ 33 points in their win over Coopersville.
Zak Ahern (Rockford): Ahern had 187 passing yards and three touchdowns, while also adding fifty-two rushing yards and a fourth touchdown as the Rams defeated Caledonia 49-7.
