The Tri County Vikings were victorious over the Big Rapids Cardinals on Thursday night.

Big Rapids would start their scoring drive from a 47 yard pass from Jayden Mason to Jace Gray in the first. The Viking’s Nick Braunschneider would get one down to Bryce Hallman, good for 27 yards, score tied at 7. Tri County would take the lead with a Tanner Ching’s 5 yard run, making the score 14-7 in favor of the Vikings. The Vikings also added some two point conversions to their score as well. Ching would strike again later in the first half with 18 more yards, while Braunschneider would find Chase Jelinski for 8 yards to finish off the half, the Vikings up 26-7.

The Cardinals struggled all through the game with 5 fumbles, and Tri County recovered 2 of them. There was the opportunity for the Cardinals to take the lead after Mason found Gray once again for 44 yards, but the last minute pressure was too hard to handle for the Cardinals, leaving the Vikings victorious against the Cardinals, 26-21.

Ethan Rose was the Core Power Player of the Game, with 5 carries for 125 yards, and his counterpart, Tanner Ching, with 30 carries for 131 yards was a close runner up.

Next week the Vikings will travel to Remus to face the Chippewa Hills Warriors, a game which can be heard live on the Michigan Sports Radio App or Website. Dave Princer and Joe Nagy will be on top of that game as they follow the Vikings all season long.
