Below are the players selected as Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week for Week 9:
Caledonia Record Breakers: Two Caledonia school records were broken on Friday night in the Scots’ win over Grandville. Senior Jack Snider set the school record for receptions in a season (38), while junior tailback Carson Vanderhoff set the single season rushing yards record (1729).
Dayvon Lesure (Hudsonville): The senior tailback had a remarkable evening, taking six carries and turning it into 235 yards and three touchdowns in a win over West Ottawa.
Dewey Cousins (Tri-County): Tri-County domianted Holton, and the Dewey cousins had their best combined day of the season. Hunter Dewey scored on a twenty yard pass, and Nathan Dewey took six carries and turned that into 101 yards rushing and a score of his own.
EGR Offensive Line: The Pioneers’ blocking up front allowed for four rushing touchdowns, and their pocket creation allowed for a passing score in a 40 point offensive display.
Joe Keefe (Coopersville): The Broncos quarterback led the win over West Catholic. He completed five passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 135 yards and an additional touchdown in the victory.
Kevin Townsend (Freeland): The Falcons’ coach has brought the program to previously unthinkable heights, including twelve straight playoff appearances. He racked up his 100th career win as head coach of Freeland in their victory over Chippewa Hills.
Owen Syrek (Coopersville): The Broncos got the victory over West Catholic, and Syrek hauled in all five of Joe Keefe’s completed passes for 157 yards and two scores. The seventy-four yard touchdown was the longest play from scrimmage for the Broncos this year.
Rockford Defense: The Rams stifled East Kentwood, holding them to 135 yards and just seven points. The Falcons were 0/10 on third down, 0/2 on fourth down and the Rams were able to record an interception and a fumble recovery.
