The Forest Hills Central Rangers are into the playoffs for the fourth straight year. Before that began, they needed to conclude their regular season with a game over Greenville. From the beginning, the Rangers were dialed in. They scored the first thirty five points in this game on their way to a 49-7 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Midway through the first quarter, Jimmy Scholler got things going for the Rangers. His two yard touchdown run put FHC ahead by seven. With about two minutes left in the quarter, Carson Deines plunged into the end zone from two yards out. A pair of Will Gustafson extra points on those touchdowns moved the score to 14-0 FHC after the first.
On their first drive of the second quarter, Forest Hills Central continued to extend their lead. Scholler found an open Jacob Bonnet for an eight yard touchdown. The Rangers pushed their lead to twenty eight in the closing seconds of the first half. Scholler and Jonah Spates paired up for an eleven yard score to give FHC the 28-0 halftime lead.
Tyler Weaver started the scoring in the second half. He ran thirteen yards to the end zone for Forest Hills Central midway through the third quarter. Greenville finally got on the board at the end of the third quarter when Grant Thwaites and Kyle Parris paired up for a six yard touchdown.
The Rangers added two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Sawyer Bosch broke off a ten yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter and Logan Vanlente burst through the Yellow Jackets defense for a forty seven yard touchdown for the game’s final touchdown.
The Yellow Jackets season concludes at 1-8, with a 1-5 league record. This is the worst record for Greenville since 2002. Their offense struggled against a strong FHC defensive unit, as they racked up just ninety four yards. Grant Thwaites led the way in this one accounting for eighty three of those ninety four yards of offense. Zane Bigelow led the defense with eight tackles for Greenville.
Scholler was the star of the show for the Rangers offensively. He completed eight passes for seventy six yards and two touchdowns, and he added seventy seven rushing yards and a third touchdown on eleven carries. Sawyer Bosch was the second leading rusher for FHC, as he racked up fifty two yards on nine carries. Will Gustafson was perfect on extra points, converting all seven attempts in the win.
