The Greenfield Hustlin’ Hawks entered Friday’s game at a crossroads in their season with a 2-4 record and a 2-2 conference record. Their game against Cudahy was going to be pivotal in determining whether or not they could reach the postseason in 2019. A strong running game and an impressive defensive effort was enough for Greenfield to emerge with a 28-0 victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, Greenfield’s Alex Boyko got the scoring started. He broke off a 63 yard touchdown run to give the Hustlin’ Hawks a 7-0 advantage. Later in the quarter, Boyko found the end zone once again. His four yard run extended Greenfield’s lead to 14-0 as the teams went to the locker room.

Alex Boyko scored his third touchdown of the game in the third quarter. This time, he caught a pass from Chris Lopez and went 27 yards to the end zone. Lopez would score his second touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter. He ran 19 yards for a touchdown was the icing on the cake for Greenfield, as they went up 28-0.

The defense for Greenfield was dominant in this game. They pitched a shutout in this victory, and they held Cudahy to just 171 yards of offense. The run defense was particularly stout, holding Cudahy to 38 yards on 21 carries. They forced two turnovers, as Skyler Gill-Howard recovered a fumble and Joel Santa Maria hauled in an interception. Greenfield also stopped Cudahy in the key down situations, as they held the Packers to 3/11 on third down and 0/4 on fourth down conversions.

Alex Boyko led the offense for the Hustlin’ Hawks. He threw one pass for 42 yards, rushed 20 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and he hauled in one pass for a twenty-seven yard touchdown.
