The Bradley Tech Trojans and Milwaukee South Cardinals were two of the top teams in their respective divisions in the Milwaukee City League. This week was an opportunity for the two teams to step out of league action and compete in a crossover contest. Bradley Tech got a major win for the Richardson Division when they were able to emerge with a 50-8 victory.
After a scoreless first quarter, Dominique Dixon started the scoring with a 48 yard touchdown run. The Trojans would push the lead to 8-0 after Arrion Brazil converted the two-point try. For the second time this season, Karon Peters was able to make an impact play on special teams with a return touchdown. This 75 yard return, paired with a two-point conversion pass from Lavelle Payne tied the game at 8. Bradley Tech was able to score three more times before the half to extend their lead. Dixon used his legs to score twice, on runs of 18 and 24 yards. On the final play of the first half, Kenneth Dixon took to the air and found Jaylynn Wesley for a 61 yard touchdown. The two-point conversion by Arrion Brazil gave the Trojans a 30-8 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Jaylynn Wesley ran 38 yards to the end zone to start things for Bradley Tech. Arrion Brazil scored his first touchdown of the game with a four yard plunge into the end zone. Dominique Dixon ran 13 yards to the end zone for the lone touchdown of the fourth quarter, which extended Bradley Tech’s lead to 50-8, the same score they would win this game by.
Dominique Dixon was the star of the show in this contest as he ran 19 times for 246 yards and four touchdowns. The Trojans ran for 341 yards on their way to 437 yards of total offense. Jaylynn Wesley was versatile in the Bradley Tech offense, as he ran for 40 yards and caught two balls for 71 yards while scoring two touchdowns. On the other side, Milwaukee South was only able to rack up 43 yards of offense. Karon Peters was the leader offensively with 14 yards rushing in addition to the 75 yard kickoff return touchdown.
The Cardinals are now 4-2 after the defeat, and they are 4-0 in the Blackbourn Division. Next week, they return to division play when they take on Milwaukee Vincent on Friday. Bradley Tech improves to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Richardson Division. They will square off against Milwaukee Marshall next Friday night.
