The Northview Wildcats played a solid game last week when they were able to win 27-8 against Comstock Park. This week, their offense was the key to victory in their 49-21 over the Wyoming Wolves.

Ja’Kaurie Kirkland started the scoring for Northview when he broke a 60 yard touchdown. Sam Simon answered the bell with a touchdown run of his own just two minutes later for the Wolves. Before the first quarter ended, Kirkland found the end zone again when he ran 38 yards through the defense to put the Wildcats ahead 14-7.

Mahki Matthews was on the receiving end of a ten yard pass to even the score early in the second quarter. Diamonte Parks hauled in a 37 yard pass to put Wyoming in front with about four minutes to play in the first half. Northview was able to even the score at 21 on a touchdown from Kyler Vanderjagt.

In the second half, it was all Northview. The Wildcats scored 28 consecutive points to take total control of this game. Kirkland broke off his third long touchdown of the night with an 82 yard run to give the Wildcats a 28-21 lead. He would get his fourth long touchdown of the game when he went 57 yards to the end zone to give Northview a 14 point lead entering the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to expand the lead. Vanderjagt tossed an 84 yard touchdown, and then Gavin Jones br0ke off a 53 yard run for the final score of the game. Next week, the 2-0 Wildcats will start OK White play against Cedar Springs. Wyoming at 1-1 will start OK Gold play next week against GR Christian.
